Isn’t it the preserve of big business? I will always answer no,
The standard can be used by any organisation, regardless of size or type. While small companies may not have staff dedicated to quality, they can still enjoy the benefits of implementing the standard. In many ways the standard will develop a professional culture and better employee morale, improve consistency of operations, all of which are not solely the goals of large businesses.
So I ask you to consider the benefits the standard offers, for example an increase in customer satisfaction with not only your products but also your services, improved efficiency, reduction of waste which will save a business money. Many more come to mind, often the standard is a requirement of your customer, this in turn can assist in gaining more revenue and business from new customers and an internationally recognised achievement, all of which are very positive attributes to any business.
